The Positives:

You won’t have much, if any, exterior maintenance.

Sports and recreation areas are available to homeowners that otherwise may not have been available or affordable.

Urban locations of condos make for easy access to employment and shopping areas.

Prices are more reasonable than, for example, a single family residence.

The Negatives:

Any imposed monthly association fees are not tax deductible.

Not much privacy.

The portion of property owned is only from the interior walls inward.

When you decide to sell a condo, it takes at least 90-150 days longer than a single family residence.
