Are you hiring the right real estate agent?

A Little Mistake in the Treasure Valley, Idaho (Boise and greater metro areas) That Can Cost You Thousands

That Little Mistake;

Not so little…

It is a big deal to hire just the right agent to represent you in the sale or purchase of your house.

Don’t be fooled by;

* The out of reach, confused poorly communicating Real Estate Teams
* Newly licensed inexperienced agents
* New to the area agents

Teams are the latest fad,
BUT you should be able to talk to your full fledged personal professional agent, not an assistant or inexperienced team agent.

Anyone can take the real estate courses, take the test,
BUT where is the experience so necessary in such a volatile market?

Boise is growing and with it come folks looking for jobs,
BUT new to the area folks that get a real estate license know very little about neighborhoods, growth, trends and inside information pertinent to selling and buying.

When that time comes and you have that little thought of selling or buying pop into your head, contact Ava, life long resident of Treasure Valley or Cristina, your 58 years experienced professional agents.

✓Talk to us, we know the business and want to get to know you. Let’s build a relationship of trust, confidence and success in selling and/or buying your next house.

✓Rely on us for professionalism, the best results possible in your sale and/or purchase and some of the best networking in the business!

Boise’s Treefort Music Festival Review

UPROXX reviewed our hometown’s music festival, Treefort.

Read their review:

Boise’s Treefort Shows The Possibilities Of Diversity And Representation At Music Festivals

When referring to major American Music Festivals of 2018, the article notes that

” It often times tends to be smaller, more thoughtfully curated events that don’t get a ton of national press that rise above the norm and set the standards for how music fests should look.  Just this week in Boise, Idaho, one of these festivals kicked off its seventh year.”

“The real star of Treefort Music Festival is Boise itself. For anyone unfamiliar with the Idaho state capitol, the likely perception is that it is merely a blip on a map, the place with the blue football field, a likely quiet town without much in the way of culture or attractions. But Boise is so much more than that. Along with the blue field of Boise State comes the young vibrancy typical of college towns. But even the word “town” feels insufficient for a city of more than 200,000 people. Boise falls in the sweet spot of being big enough to house ample satisfying options for cuisine, hotels, and activities while also giving its residents and visitors the feeling of calm and space. For someone from LA or similar urban sprawls, it is very easy to fall in love.”

The History of Treefort Music Festival

According to Treefort Music Festival Website,

“Idaho – With our vast wilderness areas and mountain ranges, clean rivers and lakes, open prairies and big skies, this big little state in the NW can often feel like living on the frontier of a young developing nation — and it’s exciting times on the frontier.”

“Music is the trunk of Treefort. We get our biggest thrills from welcoming spellbinding well-known and independent emerging artists from all over the globe. Since the festival’s inception, Boise has played host to thousands of bands traveling from within the Treasure Valley or as far as Western Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Just like the uniqueness of every tree, each Treefort Music Fest features a wide variety of musicians and bands – every Treefort moment has its own soundtrack.”

Boise on List of America’s Fastest Growing Cities in 2018

Boise, Idaho in the News

According to a March 2, 2018 Idaho Statesman article Boise is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.  Quoting Forbes, the capital city exceeded 2017 expansion projections “by nearly every metric that matters.”  Moody’s Analytics indicates that Boise’s growth spurt is likely to continue.

Boise has “the pieces in place.  It’s got the location, it’s got low cost, a healthy tech presence,” Moody’s senior economist Adam Kamins told Forbes.

The Idaho Statesman goes on to say “Locals who dig their heels in against the explosive growth may take some comfort in Forbes 2018 projections”. The rate of growth should taper off, experts say. Most notably, Boise’s climbing home prices are projected to slow considerably (from fourth-highest in the country to a projected spot of 23rd).

In 2018, the city’s population will grow an estimated 2.34 percent, Forbes predicts, and jobs will grow about 2.61 percent. Local economic growth is expected to hold steady at eighth in the nation, or 5.12 percent. Wages should climb 5.7 percent, the fifth-fastest projected increase in the nation.

NPR article - Idaho Fastest Growing State

Following in the footsteps of the Oregon Trail fur traders, Americans are again flocking to the West in great numbers, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau. But of course, this time they aren’t making the journey in covered wagons.

Idaho saw its population jump by 2.2 percent from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017, leading the nation as the fastest growing state. Three other western states saw similar growth during that same period: Nevada, Utah and Washington. The overall U.S. population also grew by 2.3 million.

United States Census Bureau:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2017

Idaho is Nation’s Fastest-Growing State, Census Bureau Reports

DEC. 20, 2017 — Idaho was the nation’s fastest-growing state over the last year. Its population increased 2.2 percent to 1.7 million from July 1, 2016, to July 1, 2017, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s national and state population estimates released today.

Following Idaho for the largest percentage increases in population were: Nevada (2.0 percent), Utah (1.9 percent), Washington (1.7 percent), and Florida along with Arizona (1.6 percent).

“Domestic migration drove change in the two fastest-growing states, Idaho and Nevada, while an excess of births over deaths played a major part in the growth of the third fastest-growing state, Utah,” said Luke Rogers, Chief of the Population Estimates Branch.

Moving With Pets

Moving with pets

By Boise Realtor, Cristina Pescaru

A new year, a new beginning. If moving is in the cards for you this year, and you have pets, you may feel that you are facing a huge hurdle, bigger than moving usually is. Moving in itself is no easy matter, and if moving across state lines, or countries, it may feel a little daunting. If your beloved pets are also part of this equation, then it becomes very serious indeed. But take heart, it just seems worse than it is. We all know people that moved successfully with pets, and pets have been known to travel long distances by plane or car. I know somebody who recently, in December, moved from one country to another with two cats and two dogs, and they all lived to tell the tale.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Visit your vet and make sure that your pet is in good health, has all the necessary and required documentation, and ask if mild sedation is a good idea for your specific pet.
  • Make sure you know the required health certificates at your destination, if you are moving across state or country lines.
  • Secure your pets at all times when in unfamiliar surroundings.
  • Make sure your pets are chipped or have identification in case they are separated from you.

These are only a few suggestions, for a lot more information follow this blog post Advice for Dog Owners in the Moving Market.

For those of you moving to the Treasure Valley, listed below are some useful pet related resources.

We know why people are moving to Idaho, do you?

In addition to beautiful scenery, fresh air, open spaces, and friendly people, Idaho has the fourth-cheapest cost of living in the country. So, we have noticed our population growing. Here in Boise, we are seeing a boom. Newcomers are settling in around our capital city.

According to a Washington Post article “Why people really want to move to Idaho but are fleeing our neighbor, Wyoming” by Andrew Van Dam, the Gem State is no longer a home for coal miners, we have moved into agriculture, forestry, manufacturing, technology and services.

He says there are a few differences between Idaho and our neighbor, Wyoming. One of those differences has to do with the fact that Wyoming has a powerful coal industry and has left the state’s economy at the mercy of the boom-and-bust cycles.

Read Mr. Van Dam’s article found in the Idaho Statesman – Why people really want to move to Idaho but are fleeing our neighbor, Wyoming.
